  3. im starting to like the Remington Portable. It's a machine i've come across pretty often, even at one time going to a craigslist seller's garage and trying it out. He wanted $50 and when i was walking out, he said "okay, ill do it for $25"... i still walked to my car. At the time, I was acquiring typers at a real fast pace so since i wasn't in love with it, i let it go.

I've the same green Italic SM3, got it from Christopher Lockett of typewriter movie fame. I think i paid him $60 or 70. Well worth it. Great typeface and machine.

And that Hermes 3000: really awesome! Im beginning to think that Hermes made a lot of small font size machines. Seems the ones i see on eBay lately have small type. I have a Director-Elite typeface on one of them (the other Hermes 3000 I have is Techno-Pica).

    1. $25!? :-)

Cool stuff! I am now schlepping all three machines through O'Hare airport. I think I'll be happy again when the memory of this leg of the trip fades! :-)
