October 28, 2014 - Nirvana or Nerdvana? A typewriter gathering to drown the senses

Words cannot do last weekend justice, so pictures will have to suffice...

It began like this:

September 28, 2014 - Hermes Rocket at 30,000 feet

I did not type, this 1958 Hermes Rocket just made an appearance for the photo. I took it in honor of Richard Polt who dared to type on a plane and was then horrified at the reaction of the passengers around him.

It was unfortunate.

Here's to you Richard - for not only TRYING to spread the good word of the typewriter, but for putting yourself out there on the front lines!

Rumor has it that this classic Hermes was seen somewhere in the skies between Charlotte, NC and San Antonio, TX.

September 21, 2014 - "Of junk, luminaries and loonies..."

My newly acquired SG-1, lording over my (all too cluttered) desktop.
I love this machine! It makes me feel small.
Not the worst we have, but JUNK. Mark P's "Cookies and Cream" machines beat this by a long shot! Ask him.  :-)

The newest addition to the "permanent" collection that is causing me anxiety. A lovingly used, early L.C. Smith Super Speed, that I will not be able to lay hands on for quite some time. It will be in cold storage in Denver, until I can arrange a trip to/from there.
