I should apologize for such hasty posts, but sometimes it is hasty or nothing. :-/ I am traveling again. The link to the Tableau site actually lets you play with the data a little. This is only my data, but this time Serial Number is an informational facet, that adds to the grouping dynamic. I wanted to do more, but the raw export doesn't include country of MFG, or I would have also included a geo/map dimension to the data presentation. It would be very interesting to start to do larger scale data vis based on the entire typewriter database. Maybe I'll play with that this week and see what pops out of that.
Just looking over this. So, you are looking at number of units manufactured by serial number quantity? Interesting idea that. I like it. Cool idea.

I thought SCM was Smith-Corona? Possibly mild lysdexia on my part.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but for "data integrity" I distinguish the difference in the collection between Smith, Corona, Smith-Corona, and SCM.
