I did not type, this 1958 Hermes Rocket just made an appearance for the photo. I took it in honor of Richard Polt who dared to type on a plane and was then horrified at the reaction of the passengers around him.
It was unfortunate.
Here's to you Richard - for not only TRYING to spread the good word of the typewriter, but for putting yourself out there on the front lines!
Rumor has it that this classic Hermes was seen somewhere in the skies between Charlotte, NC and San Antonio, TX.
You missed an opportunity to stow it in the seat pocket! Nice commitment to the cause nonetheless :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, it actually would not fit in the seatback pocket. This was a Canadair regional jet and there is barely enough room for a single piece of tissue paper in those things. :-/
DeleteA great visual—no one can object to that! And a fine sketch.
ReplyDeleteThese things are so small that people probably thought it was a laptop. :-) Thanks - you inspire people to take chances, Richard.
DeleteNice! On my own excursion up to the tops of Switzerland, no one complained, fortunately: http://sommeregger.blogspot.com/2014/04/matterhorn-typing-10000-ft.html .
ReplyDeleteMay I ask for the serial number of your machine? thanks!
Love it!!! :-)
